Courage
Inspired by Bertolt Brecht's 1939 war play "Mother Courage and Her Children," NACL Theatre's large-scale outdoor play "Courage," examines the costs of war on humanity, asking how we might strive for compassion, resilience and social justice in the face of fear and conflict. "Courage" was presented in Summer 2016 as a "walk-in-progress" at Apple Pond Farm in Sullivan County, New York. NACL Artistic Director, Tannis Kowalchuk describes the work as "a supremely exciting collaboration with a brilliant composer and a gifted international group of actors, writers, designers, stilt walkers and singers." The play will continue to be developed and the fully realized version presented at Governors Island in New York City in 2017.
