The New York Botanical Garden's "Orchidelirium" show recently ended, just as spring is emerging in all its glorious expressions of color, texture, form and vibrant energy. According to signage at the show, orchids are one of the largest families of flowering plants, with an estimated 30,000 naturally occurring species worldwide.
